Latex sealants are used extensively for acoustic and thermal insulation as well as for weatherproofing. It can prevent drafts and heat loss by filling gaps around windows, doors, panels, siding, ductwork and base plates. And by flexing to accommodate movement it can form an effective weatherproofing seal. A latex sealant reduces sound transmission by filling gaps in walls and partitions.
The main properties required in a sealant formulation are adhesion and flexibility. Depending on the application, resistance to water and UV may also be needed. MCP offers a number of polymers that help provide these characteristics.
Rovene 6001 is a very soft, all acrylic emulsion polymer specifically designed for formulation of construction adhesives.
Rovene 4423 is a very soft carboxylated styrene-butadiene emulsion designed for formulation of permanent label adhesives and flooring adhesives.
Rovene 4176 is a medium soft, carboxylated styrene-butadiene emulsion that can be used with a variety of fillers and additives to customize the desired application properties.
