Saturation

polymers_tape_saturation.

Saturated paper is paper that has been impregnated with a polymer emulsion and it turns up in many places, with masking tape being a highly recognized form. Other saturated products include shoeboard, jean labels, and gaskets.

MCP recommends acrylic, styrene acrylic, and styrene butadiene emulsion polymers for paper saturation applications. Different emulsions provide different properties such as tear resistance, UV stability, and hydrophobic/hydrophilic characteristics
