Rovene® 5550

CARBOXYLATED STYRENE-BUTADIENE EMULSION

Rovene 5550 is a self crosslinking carboxylated styrene-butadiene emulsion that as a soft, resilient hand with outstanding strength properties. This binder is specially suited for various textile and coating applications. Rovene 5550 imparts excellent water and solvent resistance, excellent tensile strength and good adhesion to a wide variety of fibers.

In contrast to conventional styrene-butadiene emulsions, Rovene 5550 has a much faster cure rate. In addition, it can be easily sprayed, is mechanically stable (at pH 8.5 and greater), and is low foaming. Rovene 5550 is used as a primary binder for nonwoven and textile applications in areas such as bonding wet wipes, polishing pads, filters, and facial scrub pads.
