Application Description

Athletic surfaces are constructed using a polymer binder such as styrene-butadiene latex which adheres well to the rubber and other particles. Emulsion polymers provide adhesion as well as flexibility and strength for tennis courts, running tracks, and playgrounds. Carboxylation improves adhesion while butadiene provides elasticity and styrene adds strength. MCP has a long history of providing products for this market.
