Effective January 1, 2016, Mallard Creek Polymers, Inc. will increase prices for Rovene® and Tylac® styrene-butadiene products for all customers in the carpet, textile, and coated paper/paperboard markets by 10 cents per dry pound. This increase will apply to all index pricing in the form of an addition to the non-monomer portion, or adder, that is used to calculate the monthly price. For customers not on an index formula, 10 cents per dry pound will be added to the December, 2015 price.
The price increase is driven by substantial margin erosion in these industries over the past few months and continued cost pressure that the latex industry faces. Restoration of some margin is critical to sustain participation and investment in these segments.
