PSTC 2024

MCP is excited to share that we will be participating in PSTC Tape Week from April 29 to May 2, 2024, held at the Hilton Orlando in Orlando, Florida.

Ibrahim El-Hedok, Senior Application Chemist, is set to deliver a presentation on The Case for Styrene-Butadiene Adhesives during the PSTC Tape Week. Mark your calendars for May 1, 2024, at 10:00 am for this insightful session.

Summary:

While Styrene-Butadiene (SB) latex represent only couple precents of the >1.3 billion pounds latex polymer adhesives market in North America, SB polymer's unique properties keeps attracting new users for emerging applications. Some of these properties include superior water resistance, wide PSA formulation window, strong additive and filler acceptance over more commonly used acrylic and vinyl acetate type latex polymers. This presentation will cover the chemistry fundamentals and structure-property relationship of emulsion SB polymers. We will do this through the lens of polymer rheology and understanding formulation space of SBs. We will also cover existing and new SB technologies that are finding ways to meet new needs in PSAs.
