Sales Manger / Northeast Territory

Manage geographical and/or market territory to promote growth in sales, margin, market intelligence and customer knowledge of Mallard Creek Polymers emulsion products; coordinate and utilize technical service and other company resources to build rapport with customers and increase business for existing and new products on a regular basis. Investigate and build new sales through innovative ideas; maintain correspondence and customer and contact information.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (others may be assigned):

  • Project monthly / annual sales objectives/goals for territory and by specific customer
  • Maintain and develop existing customer relationships
  • Organize customer visits
  • Attend industry trade shows and seminars
  • Search for new business and new business potentials
  • Promote company products, image and strengths
  • Ability to understand, manage, relate and solve problems of both internal and external customers
  • Understand product applications and uses
  • Provide market intelligence
  • Responsible for all data entry for SandOP, value growth pipeline and call reports
  • Other duties as needed or assigned

RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER JOBS:

The SM will interact and coordinate with MCP internal departments of Planning, Production, R&D, Customer Service and Marketing.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

The SM is responsible for achieving projected sales objectives and goals; maintaining all necessary paperwork.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.A./B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related technical field is preferred
  • 10 years experience in chemical sales or 5 years in sales with 3-5 years in R&D in an associated field
  • Technical understanding of polymers and its applications
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to build relationships

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Travel to customer sites via necessary transportation such as car or plane
  • Work at a desk for extended periods of time
  • Wear PPE as needed at plant/customer sites
