Penetration Primer & Primers

polymers_primer

A primer is a coating between the substrate and the top coat. The right primer provides excellent adhesion to these two points of contact. Along with adhesion, a primer needs flexibility and moisture resistance.

For a high quality moisture vapor transmission resistant (MVTR) primer MCP recommends carboxylated styrene-butadiene latexes. The combination of styrene and butadiene provides strength and flexibility while carboxylation promotes adhesion and water resistance.

MCP can provide recommended formulations based on our product offerings for your primer application.
