Tylac®

In 2008...

MCP purchased the Tylac® (along with BarrierPro®, Tychem®, Tykote®) products and related technology from Dow Reichhold Specialty Latex. The name "Tylac" was the historical Reichhold name for all products that were based on butadiene.

Today the Tylac brand continues to represents the products containing butadiene. Tylac applies to cement stable styrene-butadiene latex products and nitrile elastomers for specialty applications.

Mallard Creek Polymers Through the Years

1962

  • Manufacturing site constructed on Mallard Creek Road in Charlotte, NC
  • Operated by the Unocal Group

1992

  • Rohm & Haas purchased Unocal latex business and consolidated styrene-butadiene business into Charlotte, NC

1995

  • Ameripol Synpol, owned by the Parekh family, purchased the Rohm & Haas Charlotte plant and related businesses

2002

  • Mallard Creek Polymers became a privately held company of Parekh Capital Group focused primarily on Rovene® styrene-butadiene emulsions.

2005

  • MCP invested capital to begin producing styrene-acrylic and all acrylic emulsion polymers

2008

  • MCP purchased the BarrierPro®, Tychem®, Tykote®, Tylac® products and related technology from Dow Reichhold Specialty Latex

2011

Mallard Creek Polymers consolidating at University Research Park site

2016

  • Visit from Mayor and Ex-im Bank 
    Sell to the world, fed Export-Import Bank chief tells Charlotte-area small businesses

2018

  • MCP acquired the Ecronova® and Ecrovin® intellectual property of the Michelman subsidiary, Ecronova Polymer GmbH.
