As we grow our portfolio of products for specialty paper and board coatings, it became apparent that a Application Guide was needed to help customer used existing and new products. Since merging the strong product lines from Dow Reichhold Specialty Latex and Mallard Creek Polymers, new products have been developed that take the best technical ideas from both companies. The products and technology are unmatched and Steve Ottone can assist with application know-how and formulations expertise.

The Tykote line of latex products provide extreme latitude in formulating paper and board coatings for barrier performance. Mallard Creek Polymers, Inc., the leader in barrier emulsion polymers, continues to develop technology and products to enable coatings with high MVTR and/or OGR to be developed using water-based coatings. The Tykote grades include Tykote® 1004 which provides the maximum balance of MVTR and OGR. Tykote®1005 is a new product which has further improved MVTR. Tykote® 1019 is being developed to be compliant with European food regulations.
