Effective June 1, 2011, Mallard Creek Polymers, Inc. will increase prices for all Rovene®, BarrierPro®, Tylac®, and Tykote® styrene-butadiene latex products by 5 cents per wet pound for all markets.   

Additionally, prices for Rovene acrylics, styrene-acrylics, and vinyl-acetate based products will increase 5 cents per wet pound.  

Tychem® thickeners and additives will be increased by 5 cents per wet pound.

All of these increases are in addition to previously announced price changes.  These price increases are driven by continued monomer and freight cost increases.  For products containing butadiene, May announcements were much higher than anything the industry could have expected.  New forecast for the summer suggest that many raw materials will hit record levels.  We will continue to work with customers and suppliers to understand and manage costs of raw materials over the next few months, but must move quickly to address the unprecedented costs.
