Mallard Creek Polymers (MCP) has been Taking a New Look at the way we interact with our customers in key markets. As the company works to invest and grow in emulsion polymers, it has started to focus on key industry associations and conferences. Attendance at PaperCon 2011 is one example.

The company will send a number of commercial and technical people to PaperCon 2011. In 2010, MCP presented its line of Tykote® Barrier and Specialty Coating products at the New Technology Showcase. That presentation remains available on the company website. Personnel will be prepared to discuss the Tykote® line and our progress with new products. A new white coating line is also emerging with binders and extenders available. Mallard Creek Polymers’ experts are ready to assist you in formulation options for barrier, strength, and hiding. Mallard Creek Polymers are sponsoring the Runnability 5K Fun Run/Walk that provides scholarships for deserving students in pulp and paper science and technology programs. The company first got involved in 2010 and are excited to support this great cause again in 2011.  More information on the run is at the PaperCon website.

The company has recently entered the graphic arts (ink) industry. The creation of a line of resin supported emulsions and other products for inks/varnishes enhances the technical team’s understanding of printability. These products are also used in specialty coatings, whether applied at the printing press or at the converting operation. The coupling of paper/board coating with printing technology places the company in a unique position to assist the industry in delivering value-added solutions.
