Rovene® 4049

CARBOXYLATED STYRENE-BUTADIENE EMULSION

Rovene 4049 is a carboxylated styrene-butadiene emulsion that has a medium hand with above average strength properties. Rovene 4049 is recommended for use in a variety of applications including specialty paper coatings, textile and nonwovens, adhesives and paper lamination where high water and grease resistance films with low moisture vapor transmission is needed.

Rovene 4049 can be compounded to high solids using calcium carbonate, clays and alumina trihydrate. Sodium polyacrylic thickeners are commonly used to obtain the required application viscosity. These compounds dry rapidly and impart good tensile strength with excellent adhesion to a wide variety of substrates.
