Effective February 1, 2017, Mallard Creek Polymers, Inc. will increase prices for Rovene®, BarrierPro®, and Tylac® styrene-butadiene products for all customers in the carpet, textile, construction, and related markets by 10 cents per dry pound (approximately 5 cents per wet lb). This increase will apply to all pricing as contracts allow.
The price increase is driven by substantial raw material cost increases. Butadiene demand and spot pricing around the world has increased and this is driving a sustained cost increase in this critical raw material. As other commodity prices increase, styrene is also affected and has placed pressure on all producers of styrene-butadiene latex.
