Effective 5/15/11, Price Increase for Styrene Butadiene Latex, Styrene-Acrylic, Acrylic Latex, and Thickener Products in Carpet and Related Markets

Effective May 15, 2011, Mallard Creek Polymers, Inc. will increase prices for all Styrene Butadiene (SB) latex by 10 cents per dry lb, and all Styrene-Acrylic, and Acrylic latex and thickener products by 8 cents per dry pound in carpet and related markets.
This price increase is being driven by the unexpected increase in butadiene cost for the month of May. The industry is expecting further increases in June and July. Acrylic esters are also increasing in cost at an accelerated pace. We continue to work with customers and suppliers to manage and understand costs, but we must act quickly to recover these unprecedented increases.
