Mallard Creek Polymers Announces Rovene® 6104, Our Latest Graphic Arts Product
January 4, 2012
Mallard Creek Polymers, Inc. (MCP) continues to develop an extensive product line of Acrylic and Styrene-Acrylic Emulsion Polymers. We routinely develop products from these chemistries 'one customer at a time'. For the Graphic Arts customer, though, the company has been following a different path.
MCP sales felt that these customers could benefit from the company's unique combination of customer focus, creative and rapid research and development, and flexible manufacturing. The first step in becoming a valuable supplier to the industry was to provide industry standard products. R&D designed Resin Supported Emulsion technology and developed industry standard grades for the Ink and Coatings segments: Rovene® 6101, Rovene® 6102, and Rovene® 6103. The company has already put its strengths to work in commercializing new specialty products for customers in this market. Examples are Rovene® 4111 (opacifier) and Rovene® 6005 (high wet strength binder).
The latest product, Rovene® 6104, is designed to be used as the film forming component in overprint varnish formulations or as the sole vehicle for inks and overprint varnishes. The very low glass transition temperature (Tg -45°C) provides excellent film forming characteristics. This product is built to contribute strong water and rub resistance to a formulation. Of course, Rovene® 6104 also exhibits excellent adhesion to flexible films while still providing latitude to the chemist creating non-skid ink and varnish formulations. Details on this product can be obtained from the Technical Data Sheet and in the Graphic Arts Product Selection Guide. This information can be obtained on the Rovene® 6104 product page.
